Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling Donates $10,000 to American Cancer Society in Support of Nucor Steel of the North Jefferson Relay For Life
Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling has recently made a $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society, as part of its 2019 initiative to support organizations in need across Upstate New York. The donation has been made in support of Nucor Steel of the North Jefferson Relay For Life, an event that raises funds for the American Cancer Society and recognizes those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment. Upstate Shredding CEO Adam Weitsman expressed his gratitude for the community that has embraced his family and his company, and emphasized the importance of helping others in need. The donation will be used to provide transportation grants to help patients get to and from cancer treatment, as well as to fully fund a room in the Hope Lodge for a year. The Hope Lodge is a place where cancer patients who live more than 30 miles away from treatment centers can stay during their treatment. This donation comes shortly after another generous contribution made by Adam Weitsman, who donated $175,000 to several Boys & Girls Clubs in Upstate New York. The American Cancer Society's Community Development Manager, Lauryn Patton, expressed her gratitude for the donation, highlighting the impact it will have on families battling cancer.
