Adam Weitsman is the CEO of Upstate Shredding — Weitsman Recycling, a sister company of  Ben Weitsman & Son, Inc. founded by his grandfather in 1938 and acquired from his father in 1996. With Adam at the helm, the company has grown to become one of the largest of its type in the United States, and is seen as an industry titan with its leading-edge processes and environmental strides. The company serves to provide excellent and fair customer experiences, while maximizing profits, and at the same time honoring its commitment to the surrounding community.

In 1996, Adam began building the 17-acre environmentally certified company headquarters in Owego, NY. Today, Upstate Shredding is one of the most technologically advanced of its type globally. Throughout his tenure in the industry, Adam has invested in upgrades across his facilities exceeding the U.S. EPA and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation standards, making his company the first green plant of its type in New York. The company is the recipient of several awards including the 2015, 2016 American Metal Market Scrap Company of the Year Award, as well as the 2014, 2016 Platts Global Metal Award.
