WBNG (Vestal): Local Entrepreneur Donates $250,000 to Keep Hillel Academy of Broome County Open
An entrepreneur with ties to the Southern Tier has donated $250,000 to Hillel Academy of Broome County, a local private school. The donation was made by Upstate Shredding Owner Adam Weitsman, who is now an executive board member of the school. Hillel Academy of Broome County has been a part of the community for 50 years, and after learning that the school was on the verge of closing in 2022, President Joy Yarkoni reached out to Weitsman for help. As a privately funded school, Hillel Academy faces many challenges, and this donation helps to ensure the success of its students as they prepare to become the new leaders of the next generation.
